Microsoft ends production of the Xbox One as focus turns to new consoles

The Xbox One S was effectively the “baseline” version of the hardware, which replaced the launch edition in 2016. A later revision of the hardware, the Xbox One X, came out in 2017. In 2019, Microsoft released an All-Digital Edition of the Xbox One S that didn’t include a disc drive for physical media.

Nvidia is acquiring Arm for $40 billion

SoftBank bought Arm in 2016 for $31 billion. Nvidia is the leading maker of GPUs, which Arm also designs, but other than its Tegra line of mobile chipsets used in devices like the Nintendo Switch, Nvidia doesn’t do much in the way of CPU design or mobile hardware. When SoftBank bought Arm in 2016, Nvidia was worth about $30 billion.

Qualcomm’s new partnership aims to improve haptic feedback on Android devices

Qualcomm recently announced (via 9to5Google ) that it’s working independently with a company called Lofelt to enhance haptics through software , not hardware. That initially read as a puzzling decision, since hardware — not software — seems to play the bigger role in the quality of the vibration.
