— Health benefits platform Accolade named Cindy Kent to its board of directors. Kent is currently EVP and president of senior living at Brookdale Senior Living. She previously served on the board of Best Buy and was president and general manager of the 3M Infection Prevention Division.
The Seattle and Philadelphia-based company also announced that OMERS Ventures Managing Partner Michael Yang and Carrick Capital Partners Managing Director Jim Madden have stepped down from the board.
Accolade went public in July and recently announced plans to acquire telemedicine startup 2nd.MD.
— Longtime F5 Networks board members Gary Ames and Deborah Bevier will be retiring from the board of directors effective March 11, when the company hosts its annual meeting.
Ames has served on the board since 2004 and is the former president and CEO of telecommunications company MediaOne International. Bevier joined the F5 board in 2006. She is a consultant and the former president and CEO of Laird Norton Financial Group.
— Adaptive Biotechnologies has promoted one exec, while another is departing next month.
Mark Adams is now COO. Adams joined the Seattle biotech giant last year as CTO.
Adams was previously a managing director at SVB Leerink, an investment bank specializing in healthcare and life sciences. He also served as chief information officer at biotech companies Celmatix and Good Start Genetics.
Adaptive Biotechnologies’ EVP of Operations and Management Nancy Hill will depart the company in March. She joined the company in 2013 as SVP of commercial operations.
A Fred Hutch spinout, Adaptive went public in 2019 and has been leveraging its immune medicine platform in the fight against COVID-19.
— Seattle-based Denali Financial Consulting has been acquired by Bellevue, Wash.-based private equity firm TA Group Holdings.
Founded in 2008 by Chris Dishman and Jaennae Dinius, Denali’s past and present startup clients include Tune, Textio, PayScale, Picnic, KenSci and Attunely. Dishman and Dinius will continue to lead the 16-person company.
“We have the support and backing of a much larger company behind us, which will help us serve more clients in the rapidly growing tech startup world,” said Dishman.

— Seattle startup OwnTrail, a platform for women to plot their career and life paths, announced Miracle Olatunji, Joan Westenberg and Andrew Wright as advisors.
Co-founded by longtime Zillow executive Rebekah Bastian and marketer Kt McBratney, OwnTrail also recently closed a $635,000 pre-seed round. The startup previously raised $250,000.
In an email, Bastian told GeekWire that 38% of the pre-seed investors are first-time angel investors, a majority are women, and almost half are black, Indigenous and people of color.
— Conrad Saam, former director of marketing at Avvo and current president of Mockingbird Marketing launched Left Wing Digital, a communications consultancy for political campaigns. He co-founded the agency with former Washington State Democrats Communications Director Will Casey and Mockingbird Marketing VP Robert Williams.
