How to enable Focus mode on Android 10

With Android 9, Google introduced Digital Wellbeing, which comes with many tools to help users limit the amount of time spent on their phones. So, if you feel like you are addicted to your phone and that is time to take a break, Digital Wellbeing will help you achieve that.

Android 10 also introduced Focus mode, another great feature that came along as a part of Digital Wellbeing. Simply put, Focus mode is something like an improved version of the familiar feature Do Not Disturb. When you have work to do and find certain apps distracting, you can enable the Focus mode and choose the apps you want to be paused.

If you try to open the app when the focus mode is on, you will be reminded that the app you are trying to open is paused. So how do I enable Focus mode on Android 10? Keep reading, the steps are pretty simple.

How to enable Focus mode on Android 10

If you find certain apps distracting, you can pause them until you finish your work by enabling the Focus mode. Here's how to do that:

  • Open the Settings on your phone
  • Scroll down until you reach Digital Wellbeing
  • Now, tap Digital Wellbeing & parental controls
  • Tap Focus mode.
  • Now select the apps you wish to pause
  • Finally, tap Turn on now

The Focus mode is now enabled. Now you can focus on your work without any distractions.

When the mode is turned on, the apps you have put on the list will be grayed out, and you won’t be able to open them. Also, there will be no notifications. Cool, right?
