This blog post is part of Forrester’s Holiday 2019 retail series.

During the past few weeks, retailers have begun to release their Q4 earnings, which include holiday results for many of them. Holiday 2020 is still months away, but retailers know that it’s never too early to start planning for the biggest season of the year. The National Retail Federation notes that, “Overall, holiday sales represent about 20 percent of annual retail sales each year . . . ,” varying by type of retailer.

Leading up to and throughout the 2019 holiday season, Forrester analysts shared their insights and best practices for the “most wonderful time of the year” through our blog series. Now, we’re sharing with our clients an exclusive Holiday 2019 recap webinar where we cover:

  • The numbers: How did US retail fare overall during the 2019 holiday season?
  • Black Friday & Cyber Monday: What did retailers do, and how did consumers shop?
  • Looking forward: What did we learn from this season, and how can we best prepare for Holiday 2020?

The official webinar took place on February 13, but it’s not too late to check it out. If you would like to access the webinar, please email my colleague Nicole Murgia (nmurgia@forrester.com) for the link and registration instructions.
