Trimble Sketchup Installation Script

This script will install Trimble Sketchup 8, formerly Google Sketchup, with a network license on either an x86 or x64 machine that does not have Sketchup 8 installed. The first thing you want to do is to create a network license file. This file is put in a network share that is accessible to all users with Sketchup. Next you will want to create a server.dat file that resides on the end-user's machine which points Sketchup to the network share to obtain a network license when Sketchup is opened up. More detailed information on creating the DAT and LF files is available here. I did not implement a kill process to close Sketchup because I deployed this application while no user was logged on.

I have not included an uninstall script as of yet for Sketchup 6 because we are in transition, but it is tricky to uninstall as you cannot automate it because it requires user intervention.

NOTE: We tested and verified that the network licensing does work with direct access.

You can download the script from here.
