Led by the dynamic duo of Treasure and Ender, team Avalara dominated in GeekWire’s first-ever Geeks Gaming for Good Rocket League tournament, knocking off Qumulo and Hiya before scoring an impressive championship victory against crafty opponent Chef in the final match.

In claiming the Geeks Gaming for Good crown, the orange-clad Avalaraians established themselves as the most dominant Rocket League force in Seattle’s geek community.

Is it too early to declare a dynasty?

Perhaps, but this much is certain: Avalara’s Treasure — who scored multiple hat tricks throughout the tournament — is a rising star who must be watched. Certainly, the MVP of Geeks Gaming for Good.

With the championship under their belts, Avalara will donate the prize pool of $1,250 to their nonprofit partner of FareStart. The Avalara team also raised an additional $840 for FareStart during the tournament, and donated their winning prize — three round trip tickets on Alaska Airlines — to the Seattle food-based nonprofit.

In total, Geeks Gaming for Good raised more than $2,500 for five Seattle nonprofits who are leading the region’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

A huge thanks to all of the participating teams:

Also, thanks to presenting sponsor Avalara and our partners at Virtual Sports for helping to make Geeks Gaming for Good for possible.
