In case you’re interested, here’s more details on CVE-2016-5195 , aka “Dirty Cow,” and how it might be used to allow a user to escape from a Linux container (like a Docker container). J Metz recently published an article that helps understand when to use NAS (Network Attached Storage) versus SAN (Storage Area Network).

Jeda Networks describes themselves as a “software-defined storage networking” company. Given my previous role at EMC (involved in storage) and my current role at VMware focused on network virtualization (which encompasses SDN), I was quite curious. This gives them very fine-grained control over data access.

Infrastructure Orchestration abstracts and defines/configures the infrastructure world (I/O, NIC cards, HBA cards, storage connectivity, LANs, switches, etc.). So, not only can you define a virtual server instantly, you can define a *physical* server (maybe a virtual host, or a physical machine) down to I/O, NICs, Storage and Network.
