  • X (formerly Twitter) announced the launch of X Hiring, a new feature for verified accounts in its beta version.
  • Organizations can post job listings on the platform and reach suitable candidates organically, making X Hiring a challenger for leading employment sites worldwide.

In a key move to making X an ‘everything app,’ the platform formerly known as Twitter announced the launch of its X Hiring feature. The feature essentially allows organizations to post job listings on the X platform. This move makes X a potential challenger to leading employment sites such as Indeed and LinkedIn.

According to the post by X, job postings will allow candidates to access the websites of the organizations, where they will be able to submit applications. Organizations with premium accounts will be able to leverage this new feature at a monthly payment of $1,000. It also encourages employers to join X’s Verification for Organizations plan, which provides companies with strict screening and verification, improving safe interactions for job seekers.

The X Hiring feature will likely be driven by Elon Musk’s acquisition of Laskie, a job-matching tech startup, in May 2023. Also, job postings are already being set up on some accounts despite the feature being only in its beta phase. The feature could boost the struggling microblogging platform with a strategic entry into the networking and employment sector.

While X makes its move towards becoming an ‘everything app,’ its competitor Threads launched its web version. The availability of job listings will likely vary according to region as the feature is in the testing phase. While Musk has been criticized for his handling of X (Twitter) since his acquisition last year, practical additions to the platform such as this could likely be positive for the company.
