As a side note, I am curious to know what other CPU architectures, if any, are affected. Will something like this spark a (larger) migration to ARM-based architectures? In the end, he comes up with using a general purpose programming language (via CDK in his article) to write higher-level constructs. Here we go again.

This includes cgroups (the ability to control resource allocation/utilization), which is built into the Linux kernel. LXC is a set of user-space tools that attempted to make using these constructs easier, but it hasn’t (until recently) been easy to really leverage these constructs. easier to use. The argument is that today with the expansion of n-tier distributed systems and massively parallel architectures, east-west traffic has increased exponentially. It uses a new construct they call End Point Groups (EPG). Cisco EPGs can be a physical server, a virtual machine, a Linux container, or even a mainframe. Final Thoughts.

Docker leverages LXC (Linux Containers), which encompasses Linux features like cgroups and namespaces for strong process isolation and resource control. While Docker currently leverages LXC, the Docker architecture isn’t necessarily limited to LXC. LTS as the Linux platform. linux-headers-generic-lts-raring.

This is also why I’ve been spending time with Open vSwitch, which is a critical construct in Quantum.).
