— Adaptive Biotechnologies has a new CFO. Tycho Peterson comes from J.P. Morgan Chase, where he most recently served in its healthcare group as managing director, life science tools and diagnostics.
The announcement comes a day after Adaptive laid off 12% of its workforce, or about 100 people. The previous CFO, Chad Cohen, stepped down in February after seven years with the company; he was previously CFO of Zillow Group.
Adaptive sells kits to detect COVID-19, “minimal residual disease” for blood cancers, and it partners with vaccine makers and other biopharma companies. It is undergoing a reorganization to focus on two business units: minimal residual disease and immune medicine, said CEO Chad Robins in a message to employees Tuesday announcing the layoffs.
— Bob Wise has left Amazon, where he led the Kubernetes and Open Source Office as general manager. He is now executive vice president, general manager at Salesforce, where he runs their sales platform Hyperforce.
— The digital consulting firm West Monroe has a new partner, Rob Rogers, who will lead the healthcare and life sciences practice in its Seattle office. He has previously served in a variety of IT, healthcare, and financial services consulting roles.
—Amy Palcic is now head of media relations for U.S. Sports at Amazon Prime. She was previously VP of communications for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
