Those of you who enjoy scifi movies will know that as soon you install self-learning software on a big enough computer, it will become self-aware and takes over the world. You?ll remember from the 1991 Terminator film that ?Human decisions are removed from strategic defence. Skynet begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14am.

Hundreds of MySQL databases were hit in ransomware attacks, which were described as “an evolution of the MongoDB ransomware attacks ;” in January, there were tens of thousands of MongoDB installs erased and replaced with ransom demands. In the new attacks, targeted MySQL databases are erased and replaced with a ransom demand for 0.2 bitcoin, which is currently equal to about $234.

When I first started this trip down memory lane I mentioned that the window manager of the first Linux distribution I tried was really not that good. It seemed windows like yet was different enough to be confusing and offputting. Sort of like the uncanny valley of window managers instead of robots.
