Seattle cybersecurity startup SpecterOps said Tuesday that it raised $8.25 million, extending its Series A funding round to $33.25 million to boost adoption of its attack path management platform. SpecterOps previously announced $25 million in funding in April.
- The company’s flagship product, BloodHound Enterprise, maps and quantifies attack paths in Microsoft’s Active Directory and Azure, helping companies understand the tactics of potential hackers targeting their system vulnerabilities.
- The startup was founded in 2016 by CEO David McGuire, a University of Washington alum who has more than 20 years of experience in industry leadership and U.S. Marine cybersecurity roles.
- The extension comes from Ballistic Ventures, a venture capital firm founded by Kleiner Perkins general partner Ted Schlein, Mandiant CEO Kevin Mandia and former AT&T executive Barmak Mefta. Mandia will join SpecterOps’ board as part of the deal.
