Supreme Court Rules against Cell Phone Searches

In a unanimous ruling June 25 th , the Supreme Court decided that cell phone searches cannot take place without a search warrant. “The police generally may not, without a warrant, search digital information on a cell phone seized from an individual who has been arrested ,” the opinion summarized.
