Operto, a Vancouver, B.C. startup that sells software to hotels, resorts, vacation rentals and more, landed a $12 million Series A round led by Seattle-based Fuse to fuel growth. Founded in 2016, Operto offers an array of tech-enabled services used by both guests (for digital key cards, mobile app, etc.) and hospitality operators (monitoring, employee scheduling, etc.). Revenue grew 400% year-over-year in 2021. The 50-person company is led by CEO Steve Davis, a longtime tech and marketing exec who sold Howyl to Victory Square Technologies in 2018. Its chairman is Darren Huston, former CEO of Booking.com who was an exec at Microsoft and Starbucks.
