The Undeclared War: How Accurate Are the Threats?

Channel 4’s recent thriller television mini-series “The Undeclared War” set in the post-pandemic era is a work of fiction. The story is woven around cyber and misinformation attacks that largely affect the telecommunications and the internet services, right before a general election. Jamie Akhtar, CEO and co-founder of CyberSmart, explains how a few of the cybersecurity threats depicted in the show, involving the IT infrastructure of the banking and government organizations are actually accurate and happen on a regular basis. Reverse engineering techniques, obfuscation, trapdoor encryption and some other defense techniques shown are quite accurate as well and should be a learning for the organizations around the world.
