Cybersecurity company SpecterOps nabbed $25 million in new funding to support the rollout of its tools that analyze cyberattack paths in enterprise cloud platforms.

The Seattle startup will use the fresh cash to boost the adoption of BloodHound Enterprise, an attack path management platform that maps and quantifies identity attack paths in Microsoft’s Active Directory and Azure. Customers include Capital Group, the University of Texas at Austin, and Woodside Energy.

Attack path refers to the route an attacker takes to exploit a system vulnerability.

Enterprises of all sizes are facing an increasing number of cyber threats, pressuring them to invest their security systems. McKinsey and Co. predicts businesses will spend more than $100 billion on related services by 2025.

Founded in 2016, SpectorOps is led by its CEO David McGuire, a University of Washington alum who has more than 20 years of experience in industry leadership and U.S. Marine cybersecurity roles.

The company is part of a growing number of cybersecurity companies to set up shop in Seattle.

The Series A funding round was led by Decibel, a Palo Alto venture firm. Other participants include Mandiant CEO and founder Kevin Mandia, as well as Duo Security co-founders Jon Oberheide and Dug Song.
