Transportation software company Inrix acquired Ride Report, a Portland, Ore.-based startup that helps city governments manage shared mobility fleets.
Founded almost nine years ago, Ride Report serves more than 75 public agencies across three continents. It also works with mobility operators to audit data from shared bicycles, scooters, and other transit options.
Ride Report, which raised $10 million in 2020, originally started as Knock Software, which made a small device that counted bicycle traffic. Ride Report co-founder William Henderson is a former engineer at Square and Apple. Michael Schwartz is the company’s CEO.
Founded in 2004 as a spinout of Microsoft, Inrix got its start selling traffic and transportation-related data but has shifted in recent years to offer software-as-a-service products that feature more analytics. Clients range from businesses looking for location and traffic data, to various public sector agencies. The Kirkland, Wash.-based company raised $70 million in a credit facility earlier this year.
