When asked why Juniper Networks became a member, CTO Raj Yavatkar stated: “We recognize TM Forum’s critical role in standardizing Open APIs that are used in most Telco deployments. Being a part of TM Forum allows us to support our mission and commitment to drive industry change. We look forward to our continued partnership and working with the Forum to support our customers through their future growth.”

The pandemic has highlighted how quickly things can change or customer demands can shift. It can be difficult to keep up in such a fast-paced world. To combat this challenge, over the last few years organizations across all industries have embarked on a digital transformation. However, transformations come with their challenges, with organizations facing a range of issues, such as a lack of expertise or not knowing where to start.

Andrew Haddad

Andrew Haddad, CIO of Vodafone New Zealand, explains that his organization has used TM Forum’s Open API and Open Digital Architecture to accelerate their digital transformation. He adds: “We have invested in the TM Forum Learning & Development Curriculum so that we have access to industry-standard models, APIs and best practices that are proven to reduce the cost and risk associated with successfully navigating digital transformation.”

As well as offering support when innovating services and technologies, TM Forum offers executives the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and leadership skills. Alex Holt, KPMG International’s Global Head of Technology, Media & Telecom, believes ongoing learning is fundamental to the business. He comments: “I believe that TM Forum can offer KPMG professionals a community to continue to develop business and leadership skills, besides technical skills, to be able to perform quality work. This can expand and strengthen the network of extraordinary clients that KPMG professionals serve.”

By creating strong leadership teams, we can ensure the telecoms industry is prepared to face any obstacle that may come its way. TM Forum members have access to a variety of tools and solutions to help their organization and the wider industry succeed. We must inspire each other. Executives from a range of different telecom companies worldwide can influence how we standardize the industry.

Data sharing, data productization, and industry collaboration within the Telco Data Cloud are critical areas of strategic focus and investment for many businesses worldwide. For new member Snowflake, these were certainly some of the key drivers for TM Forum membership this year. “We’re excited to become a TM Forum member, as Snowflake and our partners build and develop the Telco Data Cloud, we intend to create strategic solutions for our customers that are based on TM Forum’s recognized industry standards and Frameworks,” says William Cage, Industry Principal, Telco & Tech, Snowflake.

TM Forum ensures the telecommunications industry has a voice across the world. As more members join, the more we can collaborate to make genuine change.
