— Seattle-area cybersecurity company Cyemptive named Ray McCay as its new chief revenue officer.

McCay spent 25 years at Hitachi Data Systems, serving as SVP of global product strategy for nine years and as SVP of global solution sales for three years. In his most recent role, McCay focused on multi-cloud strategy at a private firm that worked with various U.S. federal government agencies. McCay also worked at McDonnell Douglas, finding tech acquisition targets for the firm.

“Ray’s appointment is an important step for Cyemptive as we scale up the company and build infrastructure,” said the startup’s founder and CEO Rob Pike.

Cyemptive, founded in 2014, sells cybersecurity tools including an endpoint protection service and advanced perimeter firewalls. It acquired Adaptive Technology Group in 2019.

— Adaptive Biotechnologies Corporation disclosed in a SEC filing that Leslie Trigg is voluntarily resigning from the company’s board. She joined the board of directors in 2021 and was the CEO of Outset Medical in California.

— Longtime Amazon exec Jeff Blackburn was elected to Roku’s board of directors. Blackburn announced his retirement from the Seattle tech giant in December after spending two decades at the company. He led key businesses including Amazon’s third-party sales, Prime Video, Amazon Music and Amazon Advertising.

— Seattle-based home service company Porch announced Alan Pickerill as lead independent director, replacing Regi Vengalil, who remains on the board.

— Seattle startup CalmWave hired Seth Falcon as VP of engineering. He previously worked as VP of platform engineering at Paris-based carpooling platform BlaBlaCar and was an engineer at Chef Software.

— Customer-relationship management company Brevo, which has its U.S. headquarters in Seattle, appointed Isabelle Guis as its new CEO of North America and global chief marketing officer. Guis previously worked as the CMO at Commvault, as well as VP product marketing at Salesforce.

— Portland, Ore.-based startup Smarsh named Vinay Mehta as its new CTO. He previously worked as CTO and information officer at customer loyalty company cxLoyalty.

Sybil Tasker was hired as the chief medical officer at Inventprise, a Seattle-area startup developing a pneumonia shot. Tasker was previously the chief medical officer at Codagenix.

Lisa Chan joined Vimeo as VP of corporate marketing. The longtime communications exec held leadership roles at SeatGeek, Amperity, OfferUp, and TaskRabbit.

David Fischoff was named chair of the scientific advisory board at Trillium, a Seattle-based bio-agriculture company developing RNA-containing nanoparticles for plant engineering and crop protection. He is currently an independent consultant and advisor and was a special projects lead at Monsanto.

Marty Hartman will step down as executive director of Mary’s Place, the Seattle-based nonprofit that provides resources for individuals experiencing homelessness and built a homeless shelter attached to Amazon’s HQ.
