Of course you can. I ended up trying a system restore to get the connector program to work. I'm wondering if it could be an adapter (hardware) issue. A MAC Address is the hardware address of the local network card. As you probably know if you are a MAC user, you have to mount the volume: Load up the Time Machine settings from within System Preferences , and the sparse file you created above should be in the list.
