As IT pros, it’s also quite common to have to use a virtual private network (VPN) solution to connect back to our employers’ corporate networks in order to get work done. Clearly this is a necessary piece, as without being able to resolve internal corporate DNS queries we’d be unable to access the systems we need to access.

Given my previous role at EMC (involved in storage) and my current role at VMware focused on network virtualization (which encompasses SDN), I was quite curious. The GitHub page for fleet describes it as a “distributed init system” that operates across a cluster of machines instead of on a single machine. Obviously, you’d want to make sure that you have the correct IP address (can be any node in the etcd cluster) and port (4001 is the default, I believe). An Overview of Fleet.

One could easily install an FTP server on a server and achieve the "delete, copy, cut and paste things all over the shared folders without actually having to download it" - but that'd be not as comfortable as the new remote page. And when my server is Linux, why not change the clients to Ubuntu or something else ?
