I’d been using a community Hugo module that supposedly enabled responsive images. Active Hugo community member Bryce Wray has written about Hugo responsive images. But thanks to Hugo, you’re likely seeing a 640px webp version—24KB! They are 1456px wide and weigh in at 2MB each. Midjourney 5.2’s

Hugo Website. Hugo is a static site generator written in GoLang. Hugo takes a directory with content and templates and renders them into a full html website. Hugo makes use of markdown files with front matter for meta data. Written in GoLang for speed, Hugo is significantly faster than most other static site generators.

It’s really nice to not have to build each release of Hugo separately on a windows 32 & 64, linux 32, 64 & arm and mac machine. gopath go get github.com/spf13/hugo go test github.com/spf13/hugo/. Type the same line but append ‘-wc’ at the end and it will create a config file with these settings specific to your project.

It’s really nice to be able to provide executables of Hugo for a bunch of different platforms and architectures without having to have all these different machines in a build cluster.
