All you have to worry about it is the application that runs on the database. In the first generation version of the application, it was a LAMP stack with PHP code running on MySQL. Challenges faced here led FanDuel to re-architect to the next-generation architecture. Where is FanDuel’s application now?

One of the key points is that Kubernetes is more application-focused, whereas OpenStack is more machine-focused. Lees shares the story of how his experimentation with OpenStack and Kubernetes in 2014 led to implementing the OpenStack provider for Kubernetes in 2014.
