All you have to worry about it is the application that runs on the database. FanDuel offers online fantasy sports (think fantasy football). In the first generation version of the application, it was a LAMP stack with PHP code running on MySQL. Where is FanDuel’s application now? Why use managed databases?

And that was 10 digital ocean servers on the front end and the load balancer there, and another 10 digital ocean servers on the back end, so the front end would run all the CTF D front end instances, and there'd be a read a server and a MySQL database off, kind of in their own land but not behind a load balancer.
