I already use Amazon S3 and Jungledisk for backups. Ill have to find a way to backup the RAID before upgrading? That policy may be best practice in a data center, but in the home, the average user wont have a backup device nor the time to backup before upgrading. In my case, I just needed more storage.

Another advantage, which Mint shares with other Linux distros, is it runs on low-power hardware. Like any serious upgrade, start with making a complete backup of your Windows system. You’ll also need an internet connection (the faster the better) and at least 8GB of free disk space. You can run Mint on any of your Windows 7 PCs.

Well, now included in WHS 2011, is the Launchpad, which enables you to easily backup your PC, access your Remote Web Access site (without having to know the URL, even if it changes!), To me, the leading cause of data loss is usually hardware failure, most often then not, it’s a harddrive failure. First, the backup is automated.

With the SBS 2008 and SBS 2011 the Connect to the Internet Wizard would analyze your network and determine a static IP address to use, and then ensure you like it before making it the server’s IP address. SBS 2011 Essentials doesn’t assign itself a static IP address, and it doesn’t have a Connect to the Internet Wizard.
