Apple doubles down on controversial decision to reject email app Hey

In a letter sent to Hey creator Basecamp and obtained by The Verge , Apple outlines the App Store rules it says the Hey app breaks and advises the company to adhere to developer guidelines if Basecamp wishes to continue updating the software on iOS or release it for the Mac. Apple cites three App Store policies — Guideline 3.1.1

This seemed obviously bad, but at the time the company had no guidelines about how users should behave on the site. It requires the use of a real mobile number as well — the one you get from your carrier, not some VOIP burner number you get online. And perhaps most importantly, you have to act the way Telepath tells you to act.
