This session was titled “IPv6 Microsegmentation,” and the speaker was Ivan Pepelnjak. The session starts with a discussion of the problems found in Layer 2 IPv6 networks. Note that some of these attacks are also common to IPv4 and are not necessarily unique to IPv6. According to Ivan, the root cause of all these problems originates with the fact that all LAN infrastructure today emulates 40 year old thick coax cable. Can we use shared Layer 3 IPv6 subnets?

Once the client goes to [link] , a service is installed called LAN Configuration Service. We statically set the DNS address to the SBS server with our LAN CONFIG service. What I'm attempting to say is that one laptop user on our SBS 2011 domain is getting assigned a static DNS by the LAN Config service when he is connected in the office, but the service is failing to revert him back to dynamically assigned DNS when he leaves the office network.
