Self-driving cars: The 21st-century trolley problem

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), there are currently no fully automated or self-driving cars for sale, and such technology is years away. In August, the NHTSA opened a formal investigation into Autopilot after crashes involving Teslas and emergency vehicles ( 12 so far ).
