Nutanix acquisition rumors highlight need for managing vendor risk

We’ve already seen what happened when HPE bought hyperconverged infrastructure vendor SimpliVity back in January 2017. Buying another vendor in the same space isn’t out of the question, as Nutanix and SimpliVity target enterprises of different sizes. It also offered a hardware appliance, OmniCube, built on OEM servers from Dell.

NetApps has agreed to buy Instaclustr, a service provider supporting open-source database, pipeline, and workflow applications in the cloud. It will add it to its Spot by NetApp portfolio, the collection of SaaS tools built around the cloud management and cost optimization company it bought in 2022. Lansweeper acquires UMAknow.
