I''m a big fan of the Jump Lists in Windows 7/Windows 8. Instead of the backup, I just renamed the "LastUILanguage" key and re-opened Outlook. The data on the website is available "AS IS" with no warranties and confers no rights. It provides two work arounds, both times the first one worked. Hopefully this helps you.
