If they can do open source, any agency can. NGA began by sharing its code for GeoQ, a tool the agency developed to assist with Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Recovery (HADR) efforts. We built GeoQ on all open-source frameworks to make it easily shareable with our mission and response partners.

One is Intel corporation started a deep focus on enhanced security, including creating an open source community activity that leveraged smart design that could leverage Intel Data Protection Technology with AES-NI ( Project Rhino ) in 2013. Then some very positive things started happening.

The Internet is overloaded with definitions, characteristics, and benefits; however, few discussions synthesize all three of these topics in one place. Scour the internet and you will find that there are other, less commonly discussed but relevant characteristics associated with Big Data to include Veracity and Volatility [2].

To help resolve this issue, Cumulus Networks (and possibly Metacloud, I’m not sure of their involvement yet) has release an open source project called vxfld. SDN Central has a nice write-up on the need for open efforts in the policy space, which includes the Congress project. Cloud Computing/Cloud Management.
