I've been contemplating a self-sovereign internet of things (SSIoT) for over a decade. An SSIoT is the only architecture which frees us from what I've called the CompuServe of Things. Unlike the CompuServe of Things, the SSIoT 1 supports rich, peer-to-peer relationships between people, things, and their manufacturers.
