Last week at VMworld , I had the opportunity to meet with Lightbits Labs , a relatively new startup working on what they called “disaggregated storage.” So what is “disaggregated storage”? The first one, on virtualizing the network, did highlight an important development regarding hardware offloads for Geneve, the next-generation network overlay encapsulation protocol.
