Photo: Linux Mint. percent of computer users still are on Windows 7 — even though Microsoft no longer supports it for free. If you have an older system but are worried that it won’t support Windows 10 — or if you simply don’t want to deal with Windows anymore — I have a suggestion: Switch to desktop Linux.

Amazon WorkSpaces , the company’s virtual desktop service, just unveiled its first device for end users, a $195 product created by directly repurposing the hardware design for Amazon’s Fire TV Cube. “We wanted to take all the savings that we could get from manufacturing and turn that into lower prices for customers overall.”

I’m now roughly six months into using Linux as my primary laptop OS, and it’s been a few months since my last progress report. I’m still using the Dell Latitude E7370, which continues—from a hardware perspective—to perform admirably. VM performance for my corporate Windows 10 image is a bit less than desirable.

In December 2016, I kicked off a migration to Linux (from OS X) as my primary laptop OS. Let me start by saying that I am actively using a Linux-powered laptop as my primary laptop right now, and I have been doing so since early February. Linux Distribution. I’m using Enpass on my OS X, Linux, and iOS devices.

Microsoft wants to make Windows 11 more flexible and open We’ve got a special episode of Decoder today — I’m talking to Satya Nadella, the CEO and chairman of Microsoft. And I definitely wanted to know about the decision to run Android apps on Windows. Nadella also mentions “aggregators” in the context of the Windows store.
