A new architecture for computer processors, unveiled by Microsoft this morning under the name “Pluton,” will take security technologies that currently exist in a separate hardware component in Windows PCs and integrate them directly into the central processing unit, promising a major advance in security.

I am thinking that maybe 2013 will finally be the year of virtual desktop infrastructures (VDI) enabled BYOD. This is not because of some fancy new feature in VMware View or Citrix XenDesktop but due to a new feature of Windows 8. I said a LONG TIME ago that Windows 8 should be a hypervisor based OS.

back in September of 2000, as a successor to Mac OS 9, the last of the “classic” Apple operating systems that dated back to the original Macintosh in 1984. Microsoft even had began to follow suite, with the company declaring back in 2015 that it viewed Windows 10 as the “ final version of Windows.”. End of an era.
