In the plethora of announcements, what stands out for me is the increasing clarity of the emerging platforms battle, which is happening on two levels: mobile operating system and applications. Mobile operating system. The downside is massive lost energy going into what will eventually turn out to be dead-ends.

Operating Systems/Applications. I do agree with the post that Linux skills are a good place to invest your time/energy, which is what I’ve been recommending for a few years now. I’m more an Linux+Ansible guy myself, but for all you vSphere folks out there this is something you should definitely be examining.
