Microsoft had already created its low-cost PC DOS operating system for IBM PCs, and was firmly positioned as a software company. Windows 7 arrived in 2009 to clean up the Vista mess.

For me there was, and is, a fascination with using free tools on inexpensive hardware to do impressive things. Circa 2009. You don't need expensive gear and proprietary operating systems to do impressive things with computers. Fast forward 30 years. The source code can be customized by anyone. Sky's the limit.

Both the hardware as well as the software have served me well. Both the hardware as well as the software have served me well. I adopted OS X as my operating system of choice in 2003 because I wanted a stable, powerful, UNIX-based operating system. For the most part, OS X has delivered that over the years.
