There’s not necessarily anything wrong with that; Yann LeCun was trained in physics (the same field as one of Musk’s two undergraduate degrees ) but is justifiably known for his pioneering work in machine learning. I’m known for my AI work, too, but I trained in cognitive science.

I and my co-authors warned about this five years ago in a 2018 report called “ The Malicious Use of Artificial Intelligence ,” while the Partnership on AI (Meta was a founding member and remains an active partner) had a great report on responsible publication in 2021. But it is unclear why the model responded so strangely.
