Today, most applications are now on the cloud, meaning, you don’t need much to run many applications, as all the processing is done on the server in the cloud. Today you can get a $200 laptop and get useful functions and hardware like an HD display, Windows 10, HDMI port, a decent hard drive, and sometimes even touch screen.

Every piece of hardware worked perfectly out of the box—wireless, touchpad, touch screen, USB-C/Thunderbolt docking station, etc. Applications. Internet applications: Firefox handles my web browsing, but I also have Google Chrome installed for cross-browser testing. To be fair, though, I’ve seen the same behavior with OS X.

Although I stopped the migration in August 2017, I restarted it in April 2018 when I left VMware to join Heptio. Applications. I’m not seeing the same lockups and delays that I was seeing in 2017.
